About Us
Online Education Services (OES) is an education provider that partners with universities to provide purposefully designed and highly engaging online programmes.
This position will be working within OES, for Aston Online (in association with Aston University, Birmingham). Aston Online delivers world-class learning though degrees specifically designed for the online student. Each degree is tailored to provide opportunities for students who are often unable to undertake university studies on campus.
At Aston Online, the student is at the forefront of everything we do. This role is an opportunity to support and guide our students through their learning journey. Our Online Tutors are the subject matter experts who facilitate the student’s learning, with a focus on helping them achieve their goals.

The Opportunity
We are looking for Online Tutors to support students on the Aston Online Master of Public Health (MPH) programme.
Requirements
What You Will Do
Our Online Tutors are responsible for the following:
- Providing an exceptional student experience through the delivery of academic content developed by our partner academics and our learning design team.
- Facilitating activities that engage and support student learning.
- Undertaking assessment tasks (including moderation, marking, and feedback) as well as processing and submitting results according to set timelines.

Who Are We Looking For?
- A PhD (preferably in Public Health or a related discipline).
- Recognised teaching qualification (e.g. HEA Fellowship or PGCert).
- Experience of teaching and assessing at postgraduate level.
- Ability to teach across key public health topics such as epidemiology, health promotion, health policy, and research methods.
- Strong communication and online engagement skills.
- Organised, proactive, and passionate about student success and online education.
- You are motivated by student success and passionate about online learning.
- You are a passionate and excellent, clear communicator.
- You have strong presentation skills and the ability to maintain an engaging and positive online presence.
- You are proactive and organised.
- You thrive in a remote working environment.
- You will have the ability to teach across a range of topics relevant to public health at postgraduate level, including epidemiology, health promotion, public health methodologies, environmental and global health challenges, and contemporary public health innovations such as digital and precision health.
- You will be able to deliver content that develops student understanding in areas such as behavioural change theories, health policy, sociological and economic determinants of health, and the analysis and evaluation of public health initiatives.
- You will be confident supporting students in developing and conducting independent public health research, including qualitative, quantitative, and mixed methods approaches.
- You will be comfortable facilitating learning and assessment for modules that focus on critical appraisal, research ethics, and interdisciplinary public health practice.
- Experience of using Virtual Learning Environments (VLEs) such as Blackboard Ultra.
- Experience of teaching and assessing on online programmes.
- Experience of working in public health policy, NGOs, or healthcare systems.
- Strong expertise in epidemiological and quantitative research methods, ideally with a PhD that focused on this area.
- Relevant experience in public health, including familiarity with global and local health challenges.
