About Us
Online Education Services (OES) is an education provider that partners with universities to provide purposefully designed and highly engaging online programmes. This position will be working within OES, for Aston Online (in association with Aston University, Birmingham). Aston Online delivers world-class learning through degrees specifically designed for the online student. Each degree is tailored to provide opportunities for students who are often unable to undertake university studies on campus. At Aston Online, the student is at the forefront of everything we do. This role is an opportunity to support and guide our students through their learning journey. Our Online Tutors are the subject matter experts who facilitate the student’s learning, with a focus on helping them achieve their goals.
The Opportunity
We are looking for Online Tutors to work with our Aston Online BSc and MSc Psychology student cohorts. We are looking for people able to teach in the following areas:
- Developmental
- Cognitive
- Biological
- Neuropsychology
- Social
- Individual Differences
- Clinical/health psychology
- Qualitative and Quantitative Research Methods
What You Will Do
Our Online Tutors are responsible for the following:
- Providing an exceptional student experience through the delivery of academic content developed by our partner academics and our learning design team.
- Facilitating activities that engage and support student learning.
- Undertaking assessment tasks (including moderation, marking, and feedback) as well as processing and submitting results according to set timelines.
- Undertake three 30‑minute personal tutoring sessions across the tutees’ level of study (tutees may be enrolled on modules other than the one being taught).

Who Are We Looking For?
Essential:
- You will hold a BPS accredited degree in Psychology (or equivalent) and a demonstrable track record in research or other scholarly activity in a field relevant to the modules you will be delivering.
- A PhD either in progress or near completion as a minimum.
- You will have experience in teaching and assessing at degree level.
- You have high standards and with demonstrable impact on students’ learning.
- You are motivated by student success and passionate about online learning.
- You are a passionate and excellent, clear communicator.
- You have strong presentation skills and the ability to maintain an engaging and positive online presence.
- You are proactive and organised.
- You thrive in a remote working environment.
Desirable:
- Experience of using Virtual Learning Environments as learning tools.
- Experience of teaching and assessing online programmes.
- Be at least a fellow of Advance HE
- Experience using Qualtrics or Pavlovia
