One of the UK's leading multi-discipline contractors is searching for an experienced Scaffolding Quantity Surveyor for their London Branch. Our client has won many awards for their Scaffolding projects across the UK, and this is a great opportunity for an experienced Scaffolding Quantity Surveyor to join an already estabished and team. Job Title: Quantity Surveyor Division: UK Commercial Department: Operations Location: London Reporting To: Branch Manager JOB PURPOSE: As a Quantity Surveyor your role will be to liaise with the Operations, Commercial and Finance teams to ensure the profitability of allocated projects. You will ensure that scopes are accurately estimated, reported and executed within budget and will undertake full quantity surveying/cost management on projects including pre-contract tenders, cost planning and contract administration. KEY RESULT AREAS: * Maintain the commercial performance of the London branch. * Administer construction contracts, ensuring compliance with contractual terms and conditions. Address and resolve any contractual disputes that may arise. * Proactively identify and manage potential risks and issues. * Strong Client & Partner relations – building and maintaining key relationships with customers, providing high levels of customer service. * Negotiating contract amendments with customers. * Vet tender and contract documents. * Manage branch debtor days. * Compliance with Company policies and procedures. RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES: * Lead the commercial function of the Branch, ensuring that the business properly understands and manages its commercial risks whilst continuing to comply with corporate governance requirements. * Review contracts submitted by clients to agree. * Support the preparation of tender packages, analyse and compare quotations received and make recommendations. * Provide support at internal and external pre contract meetings. * Ensure that a Schedule of Rates is incorporated into the contract for valuing extra works. * Ensure that a programme of works is incorporated into the contract. * Manage internal and external stakeholders to ensure the work is carried out in accordance with the relevant contract requirements. * Identify and highlight potential issues with delivery or breaches of contract that could result in increased costs or potential counterclaims. * Ensure that all works outside of the contract are fully approved in line with client and company requirements and are valued accurately. * Produce monthly valuations by site visits to sites where there is work in progress or many variations. * Record monthly progress status by either photographs or outline drawing. * Co-ordinate admin support to ensure that all documentation to validate our invoicing is sent to customer on a timely basis, and correctly filed. * Continually monitor and evaluate each step of a project to ensure that it is meeting budgetary and deadline goals. * Follow up on all invoices submitted to facilitate timely payment and assist in commercial disputes. * Assist with branch reporting. * Understand and explain fluctuations in financial performance. * Liaise with external legal counsel where required. QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE: * Knowledge of scaffolding and site practice. * Strong commercial awareness and experience within the Construction industry. * Contract negotiation and risk management. * Strong working knowledge of MS Office systems (Word / Excel / Outlook) BENEFITS A very good overall benefits package is on offer with this role as well as clear career progression
