Our client is an independently owned Maritime Catering Organization. They are seeking a highly motivated, hands‑on, and experienced Senior Accountant Team Leader to join their finance team. In this role, you will oversee the day‑to‑day accounting operations, lead and guide the accounting team, and ensure accurate and timely financial reporting and compliance.
The ideal candidate should possess strong reporting function exposure and full‑set accounting experience, with the ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced environment while managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
Job Dimension (Scope)- Lead and supervise the accounting team in daily accounting operations and ensure smooth workflow execution.
- Handle and oversee full‑set accounting functions including Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), General Ledger (GL), bank reconciliation, and month‑end/year‑end closing.
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial reports, management accounts, schedules, and analysis reports.
- Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting in compliance with accounting standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor cash flow and bank balances to ensure sufficient funding for operational requirements.
- Review journal entries, balance sheet schedules, reconciliations, and supporting documentation for accuracy and completeness.
- Assist in budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and financial planning activities.
- Liaise with auditors, tax agents, banks, vendors, and internal stakeholders on finance and accounting matters.
- Support GST reporting, tax matters, and statutory compliance requirements.
- Identify process improvement opportunities and strengthen internal controls and accounting procedures.
- Provide guidance, support, and training to junior finance team members.
- Handle ad‑hoc finance, reporting, and accounting assignments as required by management.
- Diploma / Degree in Accountancy, Finance, or related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant accounting experience, including reporting function and full‑set accounting experience.
- Prior supervisory or team leadership experience is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting standards, GST, reconciliations, and accounting processes.
- Good understanding of internal controls, compliance requirements, and corporate governance practices.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, especially Microsoft Excel, and accounting systems/ERP software.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills with attention to detail.
- Able to work independently and manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across departments.
