We are actively seeking an enthusiastic and devoted Software Engineer to join our pioneering team located in Oxford. In this role, you will build software solutions for the automation of super-resolution microscopy, with image analysis capabilities helping to enable non-expert scientists to gain rapid and actionable insights across academic research, drug development, and diagnostics.
Your Role at ONI:
- Build solutions for scientists to automate their acquisition and analysis.
- Lead delivery of high-quality enterprise-scale software solutions.
- Design, implement, and maintain high-performance C++ applications.
- Devise, implement, and test innovative software solutions to address challenges in nanoscale microscopy and deliver value to customers.
- Debug and troubleshoot hardware/software integration issues at the system and signal level.
- Collaborate with hardware, firmware, and software engineers to align software behavior with hardware specifications.
- Effectively communicate and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, ensuring seamless integration and alignment of goals across all departments.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Bioinformatics, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience as a Software Engineer or in a similar role, developing high-performance software applications in C++.
- Proficient in modern C++ (C++14/17/20) and low-level programming.
- Solid understanding of multi-threaded programming, memory management, and performance optimization.
- Experience working in Agile/SCRUM software development.
- Master's degree is a plus.
- Programming skills in Python.
- Experience with image processing, image analysis, or machine learning.
- Experience developing embedded software or hardware-software integrated solutions.
- Experience developing microscopy or scientific software.
