Product Overview

The team is building high-traffic Shopify stores for one of the world’s largest music companies, powering merch and digital storefronts for major artists around the world. This is a chance to work on complex, large-scale eCommerce experiences with real visibility and impact - helping shape how millions of fans discover, shop, and engage with artist brands globally. The environment is fast-moving, product-minded, and highly collaborative, with strong focus on performance, scalability, user experience, and modern Shopify development standards.

Role Overview

This is a hybrid design-and-build role for someone who can both craft polished, conversion-focused user experiences in Figma and bring them to life inside Shopify themes. You will work on high-traffic eCommerce experiences for globally recognized artist and merch stores, translating complex business requirements into intuitive, scalable storefront solutions. This role is ideal for someone who combines strong product thinking, visual design sensitivity, and practical Shopify implementation skills.

What You’ll Do

  • Turn business and product requirements into clear user flows, wireframes, and high-fidelity designs in Figma
  • Design elegant, user-friendly eCommerce experiences across storefront, merchandising, and conversion journeys
  • Build and customize Shopify themes using Liquid and modern front-end practices
  • Create scalable theme sections, theme blocks, and reusable storefront components
  • Contribute to checkout and customer account experiences where relevant
  • Collaborate closely with product managers, architects, and developers in an Agile environment
  • Write clean, accessible, maintainable code and contribute to a high standard of delivery
  • Help improve overall storefront performance, usability, and maintainability
  • Support data and tracking implementation through structured frontend work and event thinking

Required Experience

Recruiters should only submit candidates if the following is clearly visible in the resume:

  • 8+ years of total experience can be considered, but 10+ years is preferred
  • Ideally the last 3–5 years focused on Shopify
  • At least 4–5+ years of dedicated Shopify experience preferred
  • Strong professional background in UI/UX design
  • Experience working as a designer or designer-developer hybrid
  • Preferably agency background, Shopify Plus projects, or direct client Shopify work
  • Experience in large-scale, international eCommerce environments is highly valuable

Shopify Experience Must Be Specific

The resume should clearly mention real Shopify ecosystem work, not generic statements. Candidates should reference specific areas such as:

  • theme development
  • theme sections / theme blocks
  • metafields
  • bundles
  • subscriptions
  • theme customization
  • performance optimization
  • section rendering
  • storefront UX improvements

If the candidate worked in companies or agencies where Shopify is not part of the stack, the profile should not be submitted.

Core Skills Required

These should be clearly visible in the resume:

  • Figma
  • UI/UX design
  • Liquid
  • HTML
  • CSS
  • Tailwind
  • JavaScript
  • Basic exposure to React
  • Git / GitHub
  • Basic understanding of CI/CD
  • Familiarity with GitHub Actions
  • Awareness of bundlers such as Webpack or similar

If Shopify theme development and the skills above are not clearly shown in the CV, screening should not proceed.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Checkout Extensibility
  • Customer Account UI Extensions
  • Shopify Pixels / tracking
  • GTM / dataLayer event implementation
  • Playwright or unit testing exposure
  • Experience building in high-traffic, performance-sensitive environments
