We are looking for a talented and experienced Postgre SQL Database Administrator (DBA) to manage, optimize, and maintain our Postgre SQL databases in a high-performance and mission-critical environment.
You will work closely with teams across the organization to ensure database availability, performance, security, and scalability.
The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge in database tuning, backups, high availability, monitoring systems, and automation (especially with tools like Ansible).
Familiarity with containerization technologies such as Kubernetes will be considered a valuable asset to this role.
You will manage Postgre SQL databases across multiple product lifecycle environments—from development to mission-critical production systems—while configuring and maintaining database servers and processes.
This position is to work completely remote.
- Key responsibilities of this position include following areas relative to Postgre SQL:
- Installation
- Install and configure new database servers using best practices.
- Knowledge of High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR).
- Upgrade minor and major versions.
- Backup and recovery
- Ensure all database servers are backed up.
- Perform restoration testing.
- Database maintenance
- Define and implement maintenance plans for database systems.
- Standardize maintenance approaches across systems.
- Index and statistics maintenance.
- Database monitoring
- Proactively identify, troubleshoot, and resolve live database system issues.
- Capacity planning and forecasting.
- Creating and reviewing data access audits.
- Tracking and reporting on Recovery Point Objectives (RPO) metrics.
- Performance Tuning
- Identification of queries having the largest performance impact.
- Improvements to indexes and execution plans.
- Troubleshoot transaction and concurrency issues.
- Assist developers with query optimization.

- Create documentation on processes and procedures.

- Data conversion
