The Role

We are currently recruiting Class 2 HGV Drivers to join our team based in Scunthorpe, starting as soon as possible. This is a great opportunity for an experienced Class 2 driver, although newly passed drivers are also welcome to apply. Full support and training will be provided to help you develop your experience within the role. Initially, you will spend time driving on site and assisting with yard duties, gaining experience with the operation and vehicles. Once you are confident and fully trained, you will progress to driving on the road, carrying out waste collections and deliveries across Lincolnshire and Yorkshire. The role is temporary and ongoing, with the potential for the position to become permanent for the right person.

Key Responsibilities

  • Driving a Class 2 HGV vehicle safely and responsibly
  • Initially carrying out on-site driving and assisting with yard duties
  • Progressing to road driving and customer collections
  • Carrying out daily vehicle checks and reporting any defects
  • Ensuring waste is transported safely and securely
  • Following all Health & Safety procedures
  • Complying with Drivers' Hours and Working Time Regulations
  • Providing a professional and reliable service to customers
  • Assisting with different driving and yard duties as required

About You

We are looking for reliable and hardworking drivers who are keen to develop their experience. You will have:

  • A valid Class 2 (C) licence
  • A valid CPC
  • A valid Digital Tachograph Card
  • Previous Class 2 driving experience is preferred, but newly passed drivers are welcome
  • A good attitude towards work and willingness to learn
  • A strong focus on safety
  • Good communication and customer service skills
  • The flexibility to work longer hours and occasional weekends when required
