Cleaning and Clearance Operative

Job Title: Cleaning and Clearance Operative (x2) Location: Scunthorpe and surrounding areas – own vehicle is essential Contract Type: Temp ongoing, with potential permanent opportunities for the right candidates Pay Rate: £12.21 per hour (mileage covered depending on location) Hours: 8:00am – 4:00pm (Monday to Friday) Overall Purpose of the Job To provide a high-quality cleaning and clearance service within empty properties. This includes ensuring internal and external areas (including gardens) are cleaned and cleared to a high standard, ready for new tenants and in line with relevant policies and procedures. Main Responsibilities Ensure the cleanliness, security, and safety of empty properties to an agreed standard: Clean and disinfect internal areas, including toilets, kitchens, and bathrooms Clean windows, doors Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors, stairs, and landings Remove ingrained dirt from all surfaces, including deep cleaning if required Take immediate action to remove hazards and report them to Empty Homes Coordinators Comply with COSHH and risk assessments before using chemicals or starting an activity Use the correct cleaning products and maintain accurate records Keep all internal and external communal areas free from rubbish Liaise directly with the Empty Homes team to ensure key management is effective and does not delay void turnaround times Support Officers, Housing Officers, and other teams to ensure properties remain secure when empty Maintain adequate stock levels of cleaning materials Act as a professional and customer-focused representative of Ongo Homes, adhering to all relevant policies and procedures Liaise with planners and area managers if repairs exceed expected time or need assistance from other trades Knowledge, Skill & Experience Required Health & Safety COSHH Manual Handling Working at Heights Buildings/general maintenance knowledge. Experience of cleaning Flexibility Physically fit Full clean driving licence (including trailer use)  Must have Business Insurance  Closing date: 30/05/2025, with an immediate start upon successful interview
