Position Overview

Entrust is looking for an experienced and dynamic Legal Counsel to join our team in London, UK. As a member of our global legal team, you will support employment law matters at Entrust across our global organization, with a focus on our EMEA and APAC regions. Your role will involve working closely with Human Resources and members of management on a variety of employment-related issues.

This Legal Counsel will be someone who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment while partnering with diverse teams across a dynamic global technology company. The specific areas of focus and responsibilities will vary with evolving employment laws and regulations and the company’s overall strategic direction, but include the following:

Key Responsibilities

  • Advise on all types of global employment law matters (with emphasis on EMEA & APAC jurisdictions) including, but not limited to recruiting and hiring practices, wage and hour and pay equity issues, performance management, employee discipline, internal investigations, leave and accommodation requests, disability related issues, employee terminations, discrimination and harassment complaints, interpreting and applying employment policies and statutory regulations, and negotiating and preparing employment-related agreements.

  • Work closely with outside legal counsel to manage employment related claims in all stages including investigation, pre-litigation, judicial, and administrative proceedings.

  • Provide practical and timely legal and business advice to HR and other business leaders on various employment matters and initiatives to effectively minimise and mitigate legal risk.

  • Partner with external counsel and other members of the legal and HR teams to support and advise on immigration, including individual immigration/visa cases as well as company immigration policy.

  • Proactively identify and assess legal risks and opportunities within the area of employment law and advise accordingly.

  • Review and negotiate terms of commercial agreements, especially as such terms relate to employment matters.

  • Review and develop company policies tailored to multiple jurisdictions within EMEA and APAC.

  • Work in collaboration with other in-house attorneys located globally and outside counsel.

  • Handle additional projects as assigned, including related to corporate and commercial legal matters.

  • Required Qualifications

  • Professional Background : LLB (or equivalent) from an accredited law school; an LLM is a plus. Must be authorised and licensed to practice law in at least one jurisdiction.

  • Experience : Minimum three years’ of relevant post qualified experience.

  • Language Skills : Fluency in English (written and spoken) is required; proficiency in additional languages such as French, Spanish, Dutch, or German is a plus.

  • Commercial Acumen : Experience drafting and negotiating variety of employment-related agreements and documents across multiple jurisdictions.

  • Communication : Strong communication and organisational skills, with the ability to think strategically and give practical and business-oriented advice.

  • Time Management : Superior prioritisation skills to efficiently manage a large volume and variety of employment law matters in a fast-paced global environment.

  • Right to Work : Must have unrestricted right to work in the UK and be willing to travel domestically and internationally on occasion.
