Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Commercial Account Handler to join our Insurance Brokers. This is a newly created position offering the opportunity to develop your career toward an Account Executive role within a growing brokerage.
Key Responsibilities
New Business & Placement
- Support the placement of new commercial risks with underwriters and broking partners
- Prepare quotation requests and supporting documentation
- Liaise with clients and underwriters to secure terms and arrange placement
- Maintain accurate records and documentation
Renewals & Servicing
- Manage the renewal of commercial policies across a broad range of risks
- Process mid-term adjustments and policy variations
- Handle client queries and claims support
- Ensure timely renewals and compliance with policy documentation
Team & Supervision
- Provide oversight and support to three junior account staff members
- Act as support to the Commercial Manager on key accounts and initiatives
- Assist with training, quality control, and process improvement
Professional Development
- Contribute to the growth and efficiency of the commercial team
- Develop expertise in a broad range of commercial insurance risks
- Progress toward an Account Executive role as experience and opportunity allow
Person Specification
Essential Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of broad commercial insurance experience
- Proven experience in renewals, mid-term adjustments, new business, and risk placement
- Sound knowledge of commercial insurance products and markets
- Property insurance experience, or broad commercial combined risks background
- Strong administrative and organisational skills
- Professional client-facing manner and communication skills
- Ability to work as part of a team and support junior staff
- Own transport or practical commuting arrangement to Billericay
Desirable Requirements
- Experience in an independent brokerage environment
- Experience with commercial combined risks
- Aspiration to progress toward an Account Executive or Account Manager role
- Familiarity with broking software and systems
