Front of House Receptionist Southend 17-25 hours p/w £28,135 pro rata We are actively looking to recruit on behalf of our client who is seeking an experienced a part-time, permanent Receptionist, working 17-25 hours per week, with hours negotiable at appointment.
As the first point of contact for everyone who walks through the doors, you'll play an important role in creating a welcoming, professional, and safe environment for people in crisis, staff, volunteers, contractors, and partner organisations.
The
Role: Welcoming visitors and service users with warmth and professionalism, and ensuring people are safely signed in and out.
Answering telephone calls and emails, taking accurate messages, and ensuring information is passed on appropriately.
Managing post, deliveries, room bookings, and key sign-out.
Keeping the reception area tidy, well-stocked, organised, and welcoming.
Providing basic signposting to people seeking support, using our client database and Share Point resources.
Supporting the wider office team with general administrative tasks.
Maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive information appropriately.
What You'll
Need: We're looking for someone who: Is calm, professional, approachable, and genuinely warm when interacting with others, particularly people who may be experiencing difficult circumstances.
Remains organised, reliable, and professional when things get busy.
Learns new systems quickly and takes responsibility for following tasks through to completion.
Communicates clearly and confidently, both in person and over the telephone, as well as in writing.
Is comfortable using Microsoft 365, including Outlook, Word, and Teams.
Understands the importance of confidentiality and consistently treats everyone with dignity, respect, and compassion.
Can work effectively as part of a wider team while also using their own initiative.
