Job Description
One to One Personnel is proud to be working with a growing organisation who are looking to hire a Senior Mechanical Design Engineerto join their team.
Roles and Responsibilities

To assist and support the Building Surveying & Project Management Team. Where necessary, taking the lead on various size projects

To develop designs, specifications, technical drawings, health and safety and various other documentation for the purposes of tender and statutory approvals

Ensure compliance with statutory requirements and industry best practice (this includes but not limited to: Building Regulations, Industry specific design standards (Healthcare & Education, etc), British/European Standards, HSE publications, RICS documentation, CIBSE and BRE Guides)

To undertake project management, contract administration and employers agent duties/functions, such as prepare, issue and advise upon contract documentation for JCT forms of contract, undertake site inspections, produce reports on the progress of onsite works, attend and chair progress meetings and draft / distribute meeting minutes, ensure works are carried out in a safe and proper manner, & ensure value for money, produce project financial monitoring statements for client review

Undertake condition surveys, asset management surveys, measured surveys and schedules of condition

Drafting technical reports and make appropriate recommendations inc. identify appropriate repair strategies and cost appraisals

Produce client briefs and conduct feasibility studies

To assist in the preparation of funding applications for central government funding streams

Submit monitoring returns to central government funding body

Assist in the mentoring and overseeing of junior staff within the Building Surveying / Project management Team

Undertake any other such comparable duties as can be reasonably expected of someone in post at this level
Experience/Skills required

Mechanical and electronical engineering experience

Degree in Engineering or similar applicable subject

Ability to lead teams of people to deliver specified objective

To liaise and communicate with others including members of the team, clients, project stakeholders, building contractors and statutory undertakers
