To be considered for this opportunity, we are looking for:
- A minimum of 4-5 years’ experience of producing detailed underground utility surveys
- Able to demonstrate experience in the use of EML and GPR technology to produce detailed utility mapping surveys
- Involves travel within UK and Europe (ad-hoc)
- A minimum of 3 years solid UK based work experience
- A full UK driving licence

Here’s what you will be doing:
- Carrying out detailed site surveys across diverse locations
- Leading investigative utility surveys and managing all associated documentation
- Collaborating with surveyors, contractors, suppliers, and clients to keep projects running smoothly
- Producing clear, professional Utility Survey Reports
- Conducting quality checks to ensure every drawing meets the highest standards
- Mentoring and developing junior team members
- Gathering and analysing data to produce precise underground and overground utility maps
- Using advanced detection methods such as Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) – high & low frequency EML techniques
- GPR Mark-out Mode Drainage surveys
- Leading field teams and coordinating on-site activities
- Overseeing technical project delivery to ensure accuracy and efficiency
- Delivering PAS128-compliant surveys with confidence
- Working independently and proactively, taking initiative to get the job done right
What We’re Looking For:
We’re after a confident, experienced Senior Utility Surveyor who takes pride in accuracy, teamwork, and quality results. You’ll bring both technical expertise and leadership skills to help drive projects forward. You’ll need:
- Proven experience in utility surveying, ideally within PAS128 standards
- Strong knowledge of GPR, EML, and drainage survey techniques
- Excellent data interpretation and reporting skills
- The ability to lead teams and manage on-site activities effectively
- A keen eye for detail and commitment to quality and safety
- Great communication and collaboration skills with clients and colleagues
- A proactive, self-motivated approach – someone who takes initiative and gets things done
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel as required
Bonus points for:
- Experience mentoring junior surveyors
- Relevant qualifications such as QCF Level 3+ or equivalent in Utility Mapping/Surveying
- Familiarity with the latest surveying software and technologies
