Position Summary:
- Bilfinger UK is seeking a Senior NDT Coordinator to support its growing inspection team on the Hinkley Point C project. The role is responsible for managing the interface between Bilfinger and the fabrication partner, coordinating a small team of NDT coordinators, and supporting the safe, effective, and efficient execution of NDT activities.
- The Senior NDT Coordinator will focus on coordinating NDT scopes, managing and reducing inspection backlogs, improving working practices, supporting planning activities, building relationships with the fabrication partner, and driving productivity across NDT teams.
- Rotation: 14 days on / 14 days off
Responsibilities:
- NDT Coordination & Planning
- Coordinate the execution of NDT scopes.
- Attend planning meetings and ensure NDT is incorporated as a stage gate.
- Influence the fabrication partner to ensure scaffolding, lighting, and other relevant enabling works are completed.
- Track NDT backlogs and develop plans for backlog liquidation.
- Represent Bilfinger at planning meetings and communicate Bilfinger UK requirements.
- Raise awareness of backlog requirements and support the fabrication partner in resolving blockers.
- Produce priority-list requests based on project requirements for client consideration.
- Monitor, track, and provide feedback on progress against defined plans.
- Identify bottlenecks within planning, inspection, and reporting processes.
- Support the implementation of digital workflows to improve operational efficiency.
- Manage a small team of NDT coordinators.
- Develop and coach team members as required.
- Act as the single point of contact between the fabrication partner and Bilfinger UK.
- Build effective working relationships with the fabrication partner.
- Influence stakeholders to support efficient NDT execution.
- Hold the fabrication partner accountable for identified shortfalls.
- Champion the right-first-time methodology.
- Drive forward NDT team productivity.
- Health, Safety & Environment
- Promote a strong safety culture across all NDT activities.
- Ensure personnel comply with company and client safety requirements.
- Support incident investigations and implementation of corrective actions when required.
- Participate in safety meetings, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications:
Experience & Technical Knowledge:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar role within the inspection industry.
- Sound working knowledge of NDT and ANDT equipment, including its use, application, and maintenance.
- Awareness of NDT codes, standards, and procedures.
- Current or previous CSWIP 3.2 Welding Inspector certification.
- Radiation Protection Supervisor competence and qualification (ARS) preferred but not essential.

Performance will be evaluated based on:
- Reduction in last-minute resource conflicts.
- Improvement in client satisfaction scores.
