Position Summary:
- The NDT Technician & Training Supervisor is responsible for performing ultrasonic, radiographic, magnetic-particle, and visual inspections on offshore assets while ensuring compliance with applicable industry standards, company procedures, and client requirements.
- The role also oversees competency training, examination, mentoring, and professional development for NDT technicians and trainees. As an appointed Company Radiation Protection Supervisor (RPS), the position is responsible for supporting the safety of the assigned team and personnel working around radiography barriers.
- The position reports directly to the Senior Operations Coordinator, Rosyth.
Responsibilities:
- NDT Inspection & Reporting
- Perform appropriate NDT techniques on components requiring inspection.
- Ensure inspection activities are performed within the parameters of applicable specifications.
- Conduct ultrasonic, radiographic, magnetic-particle, liquid penetrant, and visual inspections as required.
- Perform risk assessments and Take II assessments as required.
- Ensure NDT equipment function tests are performed according to applicable procedures.
- Report faulty equipment to the supervisor.
- Evaluate inspection results in accordance with applicable specifications.
- Prepare clear and concise inspection reports detailing methods used, results, findings, limitations, and test restrictions where applicable.
- Communicate areas of high density to supervision when identified during radiographic inspection.
- Complete inspection activities in a timely and efficient manner to meet deadlines and adapt to changing priorities.
- Perform work in accordance with Oceaneering operating procedures and statutory and client requirements.
- Participate in company and partnership technical forums to maintain knowledge of innovative technologies.
- Radiography & Radiation Safety
- Ensure radiography work areas are safe and that barriers are erected at the required minimum safe distance.
- Ensure non-classified workers remain outside patrolled radiography barriers.
- Ensure all personnel within the team wear the appropriate TLD in a holder with a visible lanyard.
- Ensure correct signage is positioned around radiography barriers and remains visible.
- Ensure radiation assistants patrol barriers to prevent unauthorized entry.
- Perform function tests on radiography equipment according to applicable procedures, including weekly container and wind-out checks.
- Maintain daily movement records whenever radioactive containers are removed from storage bunkers.
- Complete required pre- and post-shift checklists.
- Provide detailed barrier plans and readings as required.
- Complete consignor certificates for radioactive containers returned to the office.
- Verify equipment, labeling, and container security before packing returned equipment.
- Ensure radioactive containers are locked and all equipment has been verified before return.
- Training & Supervision
- Oversee competency training and examinations for technicians.
- Support the continued professional development and competence of NDT technicians.
- Conduct training sessions in accordance with applicable requirements and current certification programs.
- Work within competency programs aligned with regulatory and accreditation requirements.
- Review ongoing compliance with competency programs.
- Provide support, mentoring, and training to NDT technicians and trainees as part of the Rosyth supervisory team.
- As an appointed Company RPS, support the safety of the assigned team and personnel working around radiography barriers.
- Ensure radiography barriers are correctly erected at a safe distance.

Qualifications:
Essential Qualifications & Requirements:
- PCN Radiography Level 2.
- PCN Ultrasonic Testing Level 2.
- PCN Level 2 Liquid Penetrant Testing.
- PCN Level 2 Magnetic Particle Testing.
- Valid full UK driving licence.
- Valid passport.
- Good communication skills.
- IT literacy.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
