Our Salisbury team is looking for a Specialist Learning Support Teacher. In this position, you will be responsible to:

  • Assist and support individual pupils on the SEND register by planning and preparing lessons, assessing pupil progress and next steps.
  • Support students on the SEND register as required, including those with EHCPs.

About You:

  • Extensive experience working with children with Down syndrome.
  • Experience working with children in Key Stage 2.
  • Experience working with children with communication and interaction difficulties.
  • Fluent in Makaton or sign-a-long.
  • Knowledge of effective strategies which aid children with communication and interaction difficulties.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the different social, cultural and physical needs of pupils.
  • Interest in how children learn and behave.
  • Provide appropriate role models of behaviour both in the classroom and around school.
  • Care about children, particularly those who find learning and managing their behaviour difficult.
