We have a fantastic opportunity at our Biggleswade Campus for an experienced Learning Support Assistant to join the team on a full time (37.5 hours per week), term time only, permanent basis.
Responsibilities
- Support the progress of students with SEND through in-class learning support.
- Support learning and teaching across the curriculum, particularly for pupils with additional support needs in our primary and secondary school.
- Complement the professional work of teachers by taking responsibility for joint planning with teachers, preparing and delivering learning activities for individuals/groups or short-term for whole classes across all year groups in the school.
- Provide pupils with the level and type of support specified by the teacher or Learning Support Co-ordinator.
- Provide learning support for pupils and teachers within a Self-Directed Learning philosophy.
- Work with pupils to motivate and encourage them to achieve and develop through the development of their attributes, skills and knowledge.
- Build and maintain successful relationships with pupils, treat them consistently and be concerned for their development as learners, supporting them and responding to their individual needs.
- Monitor and evaluate pupil responses to learning activities through a range of assessment and monitoring strategies.
- Provide objective and accurate feedback and reports as required on pupil achievement, progress and other matters, ensuring the availability of appropriate evidence.
- Contribute to, share in and promote the wider and longer-term vision of OneSchool Global UK.
Qualifications
- Have recent experience as a Learning Support Assistant or a similar role or have relevant life-experience and passion for working with students aged 7+.
- Have knowledge of, or willingness to learn, the National Curriculum and additional support needs.
- Have experience of working with children/young people of relevant age in a learning environment or relevant work experience with transferable skills.
- Have good communication skills, written and verbal.
- Set an example of positive personal integrity and professionalism, with positive, appropriate and effective communications and relationships at all levels.
- Ensure high standards are maintained, progressed and promoted in all areas of work.
