The Role
As SENDCo, you will lead the strategic development of SEND provision across the campus, ensuring that students with additional needs receive high-quality support and have every opportunity to succeed both academically and personally. Working closely with the Campus Principal, teaching staff, families, and external agencies, you will play a central role in promoting an inclusive learning environment and ensuring statutory responsibilities are met.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading and coordinating SEND provision across the campus
- Identifying, assessing, and monitoring students with SEND
- Developing and reviewing individual support plans and reasonable adjustments
- Supporting teachers to deliver high-quality adaptive teaching and inclusive classroom practice
- Monitoring the progress and achievement of students with SEND
- Liaising effectively with parents, carers, and external agencies
- Ensuring compliance with SEND legislation, policies, and best practice
- Maintaining accurate and confidential SEND records
- Delivering training and guidance to staff to promote inclusive teaching strategies
- Contributing to whole-school improvement planning and student wellbeing initiatives
- Supporting transition arrangements for students joining or leaving the campus
About You
We are looking for an individual who:
- Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Has experience working with students with a range of additional learning needs
- Has a strong understanding of SEND legislation and current best practice
- Demonstrates excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Has experience working collaboratively with families, colleagues, and external professionals
- Possesses strong organisational and record-keeping skills
- Is committed to promoting inclusion and ensuring every student can flourish
