The Role
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting students with a range of learning needs, helping them access the curriculum and achieve their individual learning goals.
Working alongside teaching staff and the SENDCo, you will provide classroom support, deliver targeted interventions, and contribute to creating an inclusive learning environment where every student feels valued and supported.
Key Responsibilities
- Support students in lessons, both individually and in small groups.
- Assist in the implementation of individual learning plans and support strategies.
- Help students develop confidence, independence, and effective learning skills.
- Support the delivery of academic and pastoral interventions.
- Work closely with teachers, the SENDCo, and wider support staff to monitor student progress.
- Contribute to creating a positive, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment.
- Maintain accurate records and provide feedback on student engagement and achievement.
- Promote safeguarding and student wellbeing at all times.
About You
The successful candidate will:
- Have experience working with children or young people, ideally within an educational setting.
- Be patient, empathetic, and committed to supporting students with diverse learning needs.
- Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Be able to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and families.
- Demonstrate strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
- Hold GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics.
- Relevant qualifications in Supporting Teaching and Learning, SEND, or Education are desirable but not essential.
