About the team
The IT Service Management team is responsible for helping to design, deliver, manage and improve the IT services provided by the IT team to the business. We are a large team operating from a number of sites, split into the three key areas of Service Assurance (tasked with protecting live IT services), Service Operations (tasked with delivering a quality service to end-users) and the Service Management Office (which provides service ownership and governance).
What you will be doing?
In this role, you will assist the Head of IT Service Continuity in defining the IT service continuity and disaster recovery strategy and policy. This includes providing support, enforcing adherence to policy and understanding technology and business requirements, as well as delivering the Service Continuity Management processes. In addition, this role includes service continuity risk management, disaster recovery (DR) management, and relationship management with senior stakeholders.
Your responsibilities will include…
- Supporting the Head of IT Service Continuity in all aspects of IT Service Continuity, including assisting in designing, maintaining and developing the following key areas:

- IT Service Continuity Plan
- IT Disaster Recovery Plans, Policy and DR Invocation Guidelines
- IT Service Continuity Strategy and processes
- Index of Disaster-Relevant Information
- Supporting the wider IT response to major incidents and help lead any situation that requires IT service continuity management process invocation. Work with IT Service Owners, IT Senior Management and Operational Resilience to ensure effective coordination and execution of necessary ITSCM response activities. Support root cause analysis and documentation of in-scope Major Incident Reviews as appropriate.
- Acting in a consultative capacity for the Architectural Management and Technical Management practices, advising on best-practice and attending TDA meetings to provide support and advice; reviewing high- and low-level design documentation to ensure that it adheres to the Group IT Disaster Recovery Policy.
- Working with IT Service Owners to ensure Recovery Time Objectives (RTOs), Recovery Point Objectives (RPOs) and availability targets are appropriately set and documented in Service Level Agreements, validating that these are achievable in line with the IT continuity test plans.
