InterBay Asset Finance began in 2018 with a simple vision: to be a lender that unlocks business’ potential. Treating every case with respect, with the aim to take as much hassle away as possible. We are looking for a Collections Assistant with experience in Asset Finance to join our small, close‑knit team at InterBay Asset Finance. In this role, you will play a key part in managing and taking ownership of the timely collection of asset finance arrears by maintaining a proactive collections strategy that supports InterBay Asset Finance’s goals and contributes to our continued growth.
What you will be doing?
As Collections Assistant you will play a key role in supporting customers while protecting the bank's security, pro‑actively managing the asset finance portfolio, taking prompt action when accounts go into arrears. You will contact the customers by various contact methods including telephone calls, texting and written correspondence to obtain payment of the arrears and seek an understanding of the customers' financial situation assessing the most appropriate course of action which balances the customers’ needs with OSB’s responsibilities.

Your responsibilities will include…
- Taking proactive responsibility for the asset finance portfolio, using early‑warning indicators to help minimise arrears
- Managing early‑stage arrears and default cases in line with OSB’s Asset Finance Arrears Management & Forbearance Policy
- Using a range of communication channels, primarily telephone, but also email and letters to ensure timely and effective customer contact
- Communicating clearly with customers to understand their financial situation, asking exploratory questions to agree suitable repayment arrangements within OSB mandate
- Identifying customers who may show signs of vulnerability and following the Group’s framework to ensure the right support is provided
- Assessing the arrears accounts you are responsible for and making recommendations or escalating to management where appropriate, protecting OSB’s interests while ensuring fair customer treatment
- Working closely with internal stakeholders and the wider team, keeping them informed of case progress and any issues requiring involvement
- Maintaining accurate system notes, data logs and reports for all collections activities
- Consistently delivering a high standard of customer service to both external and internal customers
