Onerway is a fast-scaling, cross-border payment service provider (PSP) helping merchants process card and alternative payments globally. This is a rare opportunity to shape the foundation of a next-generation payments business at a critical inflection point.
We are looking for an experienced Business Development Manager in our London office with a strong background in payments and banking, particularly in credit card merchant acquiring to lead our efforts in acquiring and scaling relationships with high-value merchants. You will play a critical role in developing our UK and supporting EMEA commercial footprint, with a focus on acquiring clients who process large volumes of credit card and APM payments.
- Develop and execute a merchant acquisition strategy targeting cross-border card payment volumes.
- Build and manage relationships with enterprise and mid-market merchants.
- Lead commercial negotiations and optimise pricing for credit card processing and APM processing.
- Act as the subject matter expert on merchant acquiring, advising internal teams on product, compliance, and operational needs.
- Leverage your network within PSPs, banks, and FS institutions to source strategic leads.
- Help shape the go-to-market strategy and value proposition for our acquiring services.
Solid experience in merchant acquiring, PSPs, card payment infrastructure or banking payment solutions, with clear success in B2B sales. Deep understanding of card scheme acquiring, interchange pricing, chargebacks, fraud management, and regulatory compliance. Strong existing network within the payments ecosystem - including PSPs, acquiring banks, and industry partners. Proven ability to grow commercial functions in start-up or scale-up environments. Highly organized, self-driven, and results-oriented, with strong consultative sales and negotiation skills. Comfortable working autonomously, under direct supervision of head of BD in London, without layers of management or corporate structure.
