The Team
The Buying team selects products/ranges that will be profitable and align with the brand's DNA. From researching new trends, comp shopping and visiting trade fairs with Design to analysing sales data, and helping trade current stock in conjunction with Merchandising. We build and maintain relationships with suppliers in order to produce high quality product ranges in collaboration with Design, Garment Tech and Merchandising, in line with the critical path in order to deliver for on time launches.
You’ll Be Responsible For
- Build strong supplier relationships coordinating samples and supporting in supply base strategy
- Work closely with merchandising to ensure range plan is up to date and all information is correct
- Supporting the buyer in range building with merchandising and design
- Overseeing the supplier critical paths with the buyers admin, proactively identifying and mitigating risk.
- Overseeing the approval of lab dips, bulk fabric and components
- Ordering and managing proto samples adhering to critical path dates
- Liaising with garment tech to ensure fit sessions and fittings are prioritised according to the critical path
- Attend fit sessions with the buyer and ensure fit comments are sent out on time
- Working with design and garment tech to ensure fit sessions are in line with critical path
- Undertake regular competitor shop reports and quarterly newsletters, with clear suggestions for actions
- Managing and mentoring Buyers Admin supporting them in prioritising day to day as well as in their career development.
- Extra product related projects – collection names, logo & branding, packaging updates
You’ll Need To Have
- Asst Buyer Level experience (with experience in Women’s Activewear preferred but not essential)
- Strong commercial aptitude with an awareness of current trends within the fitness and fashion industries.
- Understanding the Oner customer.
- Excellent communication skills with ability to communicate clearly, effectively with colleagues, suppliers and the wider teams
- Passion for the Oner Active brand and a desire to be part of its ongoing growth and success
