Everlife (Wiltshire) are a domiciliary care provider working in Trowbridge, Bradford-on-Avon, Melksham, Westbury, Warminster and surrounding villages. We are looking for caring individuals with a passion for providing high quality care to individuals in their own homes. A car is essential as the role involves visiting customers in their own homes in the community. We like to keep our staff working in the area they live to keep travelling to a minimum.
Your hours can be flexible and we can offer work during weekday days, weekday nights, weekends or you can choose to work Monday to Friday and every other weekend. You could also choose to work on a bank basis and work when you are available. Please give us a call for a chat on what hours you would like to work.
We offer excellent pay rates: £17 per hour for weekday evenings/weekends and £15 per hour for weekday days. In addition to this, we offer paid mileage (45p per mile), paid holiday, pension scheme along with access to discounts via the Blue Light Card. Full paid training provided, so no experience is necessary. We also have Apprenticeship opportunities available, please ask for details.
All positions require an Enhanced DBS Check.
Job Purpose
To undertake care/support work with the sensitivity required to provide services in a way which preserves the dignity, privacy, choice, independence, fulfilment and rights of the people who use our services.
Accountabilities
- Delivering the highest standard of quality care to all service users.
- Support service users to lead as independent a life as possible.
- Provide personal care and support to service users as detailed in their individual care/support plan.
- Adhere to the requirements laid out in the risk assessments and care/support plans to ensure that the service user lives as safely as possible in their own home.
- Prepare meals, ensuring a balanced diet, undertake household and cleaning tasks, social interaction and any other tasks outlined in the care/support plan.
- Dress appropriately for the post in accordance with the company dress code.
- Develop good communication and develop effective working relationships with service users and others.
- Be willing to work within a service user’s own home, accepting the different environments and varying capabilities of service users.
- Encourage service users independence, while ensuring dignity, choice and respect at all times.
- Support the company office and its performance.
- Ensure that any health and safety issues are reported immediately.
- Ensure accurate and full records are kept for each service user.
- Deliver flexible care and support for service users who require this.
- Liaise with peers and other professionals as required and appropriate.
- Where required, assist to ensure that all care visits are attended.
- Report any concerns, complaints or safeguarding/protection issues.
- Attend staff meetings, training, supervisions and appraisals where necessary.
- Support stakeholders and their requirements.
- Attend and participate in case conferences and reviews as and when required.
- Alert managers/quality officers/company office staff to any changes in the service user’s condition or circumstances.
- Take responsibility for the safe handling of property and equipment belonging to the service user.
- Be available and willing to undertake any other tasks specified by line management relevant to the role and to the needs of the service user.
- Communicate effectively with all peer groups.
- Undertake other duties as requested by your line manager.
