OnePlace Solutions are currently looking for HGV Class 1 Drivers to join our client based in Dordon. The client is a long-standing automotive parts supplier who is looking for experienced drivers to join their team. We have roles available for FULL TIME 50 hours per week OR Fridays / Sundays only!

The driver must have a minimum of 6 months experience in a class 1 role. This role involves 3-5 drops per shift, and includes opening up small sites and controlling the alarms before dropping the goods in. It is not just a driving role.

  • Load and unload goods efficiently, ensuring securement according to safety standards.
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, reporting any faults or issues promptly.
  • Maintain accurate delivery documentation and logs in compliance with legal requirements.
  • Plan routes effectively to optimise delivery times while adhering to legal driving hours.
  • Communicate with dispatchers regarding delivery schedules, delays, or issues encountered on the road.
  • Ensure compliance with all road safety regulations and company policies at all times.
  • Assist with general vehicle maintenance tasks as required to ensure optimal operation.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Must hold correct licence and it must be valid.
  • Up to date CPC and DQC card.
  • Have physical copies of them.
  • Right to work documents or share code.
  • No excluding health conditions from driving; understand any reportable conditions or medications.

Testing:

  • Theory test.
  • Drug test.
  • Drive test.
  • Licence inspections.
  • Assessment of candidate while undergoing these.

Training:

  • 1 day induction.
  • 1 night transport training.
  • 3 days buddy training.

The Training Pay rate is £15 per hour. The hours are nights, starting between 10pm-2am and working 10 hours per shift. The pay rate is £21 per hour for 5 shifts. For a 6th shift, it is £28 per hour.
