OnePlace Solutions are currently looking for HGV Class 1 Drivers to join our client based in Dordon. Our client is a long-standing automotive parts supplier who is looking for experienced drivers to join their team on a part-time basis.
We have roles available for part-time hours - 20-24 hours per week - on Fridays and Sundays.
The driver must have a minimum of 6 months experience in a class 1 role. This role involves 3-5 drops per shift, including opening up small sites and controlling the alarms before dropping the goods in, so it is not just a driving role.
- Load and unload goods efficiently, ensuring securement according to safety standards.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, reporting any faults or issues promptly.
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and logs in compliance with legal requirements.
- Plan routes effectively to optimise delivery times while adhering to legal driving hours.
- Communicate with dispatchers regarding delivery schedules, delays, or issues encountered on the road.
- Ensure compliance with all road safety regulations and company policies at all times.
- Assist with general vehicle maintenance tasks as required to ensure optimal operation.
Requirements:
- Hold correct licence and it must be valid.
- Up to date CPC and DQC card.
- Have physical copies of them.
- Right to work documents or share code.
- No excluding health conditions from driving; understand any reportable conditions or medications.
Testing at site includes:
- Theory test
- Drug test
- Drive test
- Licence inspections
- Assessment of candidate while undergoing these tests.
Start with 1 day induction, 1 night transport training, and 3 days buddy training.
Pay Rate:
- The training pay rate is £17.92 per hour.
- The hours are working nights, starting between 10pm-2am and working 10 hours per shift on Fridays and Sundays.
- The pay rate is £26.74 per hour.
