OnePlace Solutions are currently looking for HGV Class 1 Drivers to join our client based in Dordon. The client is a long-standing automotive parts supplier who is looking for experienced drivers to join their team. We have roles available for FULL TIME 50 hours per week OR Fridays / Sundays only!

The driver must have a minimum of 6 months experience in a class 1 role. This role involves:

  • 3-5 drops per shift, including opening up small sites and controlling the alarms before dropping the goods.
  • Loading and unloading goods efficiently, ensuring securement according to safety standards.
  • Conducting pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, reporting any faults or issues promptly.
  • Maintaining accurate delivery documentation and logs in compliance with legal requirements.
  • Planning routes effectively to optimise delivery times while adhering to legal driving hours.
  • Communicating with dispatchers regarding delivery schedules, delays, or issues encountered on the road.
  • Ensuring compliance with all road safety regulations and company policies at all times.
  • Assisting with general vehicle maintenance tasks as required to ensure optimal operation.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 6 months experience, ideally 12 months +.
  • Good knowledge of working time and EU regulations.
  • Experience with multi-drop and load security.
  • Good knowledge of vehicle checks.
  • Able to operate independently and safely in varying road conditions.
  • Hold a valid licence, up-to-date CPC and DQC card, and physical copies of them.
  • Right to work documents or share code.
  • No excluding health conditions from driving; understand any reportable conditions or medications.

Testing at site includes theory test, drug test, drive test, and licence inspections. Assessment of candidates will occur while undergoing these tests.

Training includes 1 day induction, 1 night transport training, and 3 days buddy training. The training pay rate is £15 per hour. The hours are nights, starting between 10pm-2am and working 10 hours per shift. The pay rate is £21 per hour for 5 shifts. For a 6th shift, it is £28 per hour.
