Trainee Fitters / Erectors to join our client based in the Taunton area.
Our client are an industry leader manufacturer who are experiencing fantastic growth and are looking to add to their work force.
Job
Summary: To assemble and install sectional water storage tanks (GRP) to technical specifications and safety standards at site across the UK.
Erect GRP Sectional water tanks based on drawings, layoutplans, and manufacturer specifications.
Assemble tank panels, base supports, internal bracing, andcovers using appropriate tools and fixings.
Install internal components such as ladders, All thread, accesshatches, and connections.
Ensure tanks are watertight through correct joint sealing, torque tightening, and alignment.
Prepare installation areas, including setting out, base checking, and site levelling.
Work at height when required using access equipment, scaffolding, or safety harnesses.
Operate tools including drills, wrenches, impact drivers, grinders, and lifting gear.
Follow site-specific RAMS (Risk Assessments and Method Statements).
Maintain accurate installation records and report progress orissues to supervisors.
Ensure health & safety compliance on all tasks and use proper PPE at all times.
Travel to various site locations as needed, including occasional weekend work & overnight stays.
Preferred but not essential: A current CSCS card Competence in reading technical drawings and installation manuals.
Skilled in use of hand and power tools, torque equipment, and alignment techniques.
Role involves carrying out manual handling tasks, standing for long periods of time, working at heights and in confined spaces.
A full clean UK Driving License.
Basic understanding of site health & safety regulations Hours of
Work: The hours of work can vary, as early as 05.00 starts and finishing sometimes as late as 18.00.
You are paid while you travel so you can easily be paid for 60 hours most weeks.
Pay
Rate: The hourly rate is £13.25 to begin with, but when fully trained you can be earning £40,000-£50,000 ( based on performance, hours, promotions etc) which could a few years!
