We are looking for an enthusiastic individual with a keen interest in pattern making and 3D Design to join our development team. This will mainly be linked to the Pattern Maker with the uploading of current patterns into different systems for production, focusing on sublimation and cut and sew to ensure a seamless process. You will be required to modify patterns on existing blocks and ensure seam allowances are correct for this process. You will check size charts match the patterns and ensure pattern grading is as per the requirements. You will also be required to translate patterns into 3D images to ensure the patterns work correctly for the pattern maker for fit and silhouette.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Take ownership of uploading patterns to different systems and ensuring the patterns are accurate, grading and nesting is correct for the relevant departments.
- Make adjustments to patterns in conjunction with the pattern team on all Lectra software pattern packages and ensure they are production friendly, cost effective and functional.
- Translate sketches/technical packs into patterns from existing blocks to ensure they meet the product developer's requirements.
- Ensure technical information required for each pattern, including pattern measurement chart and construction details, are up to date for all areas of the business.
- Document all patterns/codes on a shared folder along with the correct size charts and technical packs.
- Support the pattern team with uploading, dressing, and virtually sewing up the 3D garments, ensuring the fitting works on our virtual avatar before we progress to sign off and possible sample.
- Work closely with the product developers to ensure the design concept has been captured correctly from the design.
Skills/Requirements:
- Qualification to degree level or similar in Pattern Making / Fashion Design.
- Minimum of 1-2 years experience specialising in pattern cutting.
- Excellent pattern cutting knowledge with all the basics in pattern cutting - Block Manipulation, draping/sampling. Ideally in mens, ladies, and kids would be extremely helpful.
- Computer skills within pattern making and 3D clothing programs.
- Excellent understanding of garment construction and a good understanding of technical fabrics and performance gear.
- Adaptive to change, excellent organisational and problem-solving skills, ambition, and effective communication skills.
- Confident in their decisions and able to perform effectively under pressure and within timescales.
- Proficient in Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Desirable:
- Knowledge of 3D garment design (CLO/Vstitcher/Browzwear).
- A good understanding of technical fabrics and an understanding of sublimation design.
- A good knowledge of sportswear in kids, women's, and men's wear.
- Ability and willingness to travel when necessary.
