We are recruiting for an experienced Senior Site Manager to lead on-site delivery for a prestigious, high-value construction scheme in central Exeter. This role involves managing the transition from initial civils and enabling works through to superstructure construction, ensuring exceptional standards on a complex, high-profile project.
Responsibilities
- Lead all on-site operations for the project, from initial civils (groundworks, drainage, enabling, foundations) through to superstructure build (frame, envelope, and associated works).
- Manage site teams, subcontractors, and supply chain to deliver on programme, quality, safety, and budget targets.
- Oversee daily site coordination, resource planning, progress monitoring, and issue resolution.
- Ensure strict compliance with CDM regulations, health & safety protocols, and project-specific requirements.
- Liaise effectively with clients, designers, engineers, and stakeholders to maintain alignment and resolve challenges.
- Drive a strong safety culture and maintain high standards of workmanship throughout the build phases.
Qualifications and experience
- Proven track record as a Senior Site Manager (or equivalent) on major construction projects, with strong experience in initial civils works leading into superstructure delivery.
- Background working with Tier 1 or Tier 2 contractors on high-value/complex schemes (residential, commercial, mixed-use, or similar).
- Solid understanding of civils enabling works, groundworks, and progression to superstructure phases.
- Essential certifications: CSCS card (Black/Gold), SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme), and First Aid at Work.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
