Senior Site Manager – Residential Development

£350 Per Day | Temporary to Permanent | £75,000 + Package Once Permanent

We are recruiting for an experienced Senior Site Manager to join an established PLC residential developer, taking a leading role in the delivery of one of their flagship residential developments.

This is an excellent opportunity for a proven residential professional who takes pride in delivering a high-quality product, maintaining exceptional site standards and driving construction programmes through to successful completion.

The developer's preference is to appoint somebody initially on a temporary-to-permanent basis, providing an opportunity for both parties to establish a successful working relationship before transitioning into a permanent position.

The Role

As Senior Site Manager, you will take responsibility for the day-to-day management and successful delivery of a significant residential development, ensuring that programme, quality, health & safety and customer expectations are consistently achieved.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Leading and coordinating site operations, subcontractors and directly employed personnel.

  • Driving construction programmes, maintaining progress against key milestones and proactively addressing potential delays.

  • Ensuring consistently high standards of workmanship, presentation and finished product across all stages of construction.

  • Managing quality control, inspections, snagging and the successful handover of completed homes.

  • Maintaining excellent health & safety standards and ensuring compliance with company procedures.

  • Working closely with the wider construction and commercial teams to ensure efficient project delivery.

  • Providing effective leadership to the site management team and maintaining a positive, accountable site culture.

About You

We are particularly interested in speaking with experienced Senior Site Managers who can demonstrate a strong, proven track record of successfully delivering high-quality residential developments, ideally within a recognised PLC housebuilder.

You will need to demonstrate:

  • Substantial experience managing volume residential developments.

  • A proven history of delivering successful projects, with particular emphasis on build quality and finished product.

  • Strong technical knowledge of traditional residential construction methods and sequencing.

  • The ability to effectively manage multiple trades, subcontractors and competing programme demands.

  • Excellent organisational, communication and leadership skills.

  • A proactive, hands‑on management approach with a genuine commitment to quality.

  • Experience working within the standards, processes and reporting structures of a major residential developer.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Valid CSCS Card (appropriate management level).

  • SMSTS.

  • First Aid at Work.

Advantageous:

  • Scaffold Inspection / Scaffold Appreciation certification.

Remuneration & Opportunity

  • Initial freelance rate: £350 per day.

  • Permanent salary: Circa £75,000 per annum + comprehensive benefits package.

  • Engagement: Temporary to permanent preferred.
