We are currently recruiting for an experienced Project Manager or Senior Site Manager to join a growing and highly reputable construction business, delivering complex refurbishment and decarbonisation projects across South Wales and Bristol. This is an excellent opportunity for a driven construction professional looking to take full ownership of projects from pre-construction through to completion, working within live environments and alongside a highly collaborative client and consultant team.
The successful candidate will play a key role in the delivery of a major ongoing scheme in Cardiff, currently programmed through to December 2027, with further projects in the pipeline across the region. Current works include:
- Temporary works packages
- Large-scale reroofing works
- Full re-windowing packages
- Decarbonisation and energy efficiency upgrades
- Complex refurbishment works within occupied buildings
This flagship scheme is being delivered within an occupied university environment, requiring a strong focus on programme, stakeholder management, safety, and operational coordination.
Key Responsibilities
- Taking full ownership of project delivery from PCSA stage through to completion
- Managing all operational and contractual aspects of projects valued between £2m – £8m
- Reviewing and understanding contracts, including amendments to standard forms of contract
- Managing warranties, guarantees, and contractual obligations
- Coordinating design management and consultant teams
- Supporting and managing project programmes to ensure delivery milestones are achieved
- Liaising with clients, stakeholders, consultants, and specialist subcontractors
- Managing temporary works and ensuring compliance across all project stages
- Maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and programme performance
- Managing live/occupied environments with minimal disruption to end users
About You
We are looking for a proactive and commercially aware individual who can lead projects with confidence and professionalism. Ideal experience includes:
- Proven experience as either a Project Manager or Senior Site Manager within refurbishment, retrofit, or major construction projects
- Strong understanding of contracts, liabilities, warranties, and guarantees
- Knowledge of design responsibility and design liabilities
- Excellent stakeholder and client-facing skills
- Strong planning and programming capability
- High attention to detail and strong problem-solving ability
- Experience delivering projects in occupied environments
- Strong technical understanding of refurbishment and building envelope works
- Competent using Procore (or similar systems such as Field View, Aconex, or similar project management platforms)
