Our client is a leading Tier 1 Main Contractor with an outstanding reputation for delivering high-profile residential and mixed-use developments across the UK. Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of work in Manchester, they are now seeking an experienced Senior Health & Safety Advisor to join their regional team. The Role

Reporting into the Regional HSE Manager, the Senior Health & Safety Advisor will be responsible for supporting multiple large-scale construction projects across Manchester, ensuring the highest standards of health, safety, and compliance are maintained at all times. The successful candidate will work closely with operational teams, subcontractors, and senior management to promote a positive safety culture across all sites.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide proactive Health & Safety support across live residential and mixed-use construction projects
  • Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and safety reviews
  • Ensure compliance with current HSE legislation and company procedures
  • Assist project teams with risk assessments, method statements, and safe systems of work
  • Investigate incidents, near misses, and accidents, producing detailed reports and recommendations
  • Deliver toolbox talks, safety briefings, and training where required
  • Build strong relationships with site teams and subcontractors to drive a positive safety culture
  • Monitor subcontractor performance and compliance standards
  • Support senior management with continuous improvement initiatives
  • Maintain accurate records and reporting documentation

Requirements

  • Previous experience working for a Main Contractor within the residential construction sector is essential
  • Experience on large-scale residential and/or mixed-use developments
  • Strong working knowledge of current UK Health & Safety legislation
  • NEBOSH Construction Certificate or equivalent qualification
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Strong organisational and reporting skills
  • Full UK driving licence
