Overview
A well-established main contractor / developer is seeking an experienced Managing Quantity Surveyor / Commercial Manager to join their team on high-value, multi-phase projects in Central London.
The portfolio includes commercial developments, hotels, residential schemes, and student accommodation, with project values ranging from £50m - £150m. This is an excellent opportunity for a senior professional to take ownership of the commercial function and contribute to a variety of high-profile projects.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience managing commercial operations across complex, high-value projects and will be confident working on a range of sectors including commercial, residential, hospitality, and student accommodation.
Key Responsibilities
- Full commercial leadership across multiple project phases
- Preparation of financial reports, forecasts, and cost plans
- Budget and cost management across work packages
- Commercial risk identification and mitigation
- Advising on procurement and commercial strategy
- Oversight of subcontractor and supplier management
- Assessment of variations, valuations, and payment applications
- Leading client interface and stakeholder management
- Supporting dispute avoidance and resolution
- Managing, developing, and mentoring the project commercial team
Preferred Experience
- Experience delivering commercial, residential, hotel, and student accommodation projects
- Proven track record on projects valued £50m - £150m
- Strong understanding of pre-construction, procurement, and full project lifecycles
- Experience with JCT and/or NEC forms of contract
- Background with a main contractor or developer
- Ability to lead commercial functions autonomously and implement best practice
