Project Manager – Civils & Enabling Works Location: North London Project: £100m Major Infrastructure Scheme Salary: £85,000–£120,000 + Comprehensive Package Freelance: £400–£550 per day Employment: Permanent or Freelance Start: ASAP The Opportunity A leading main contractor is looking to appoint an experienced Project Manager to take responsibility for significant civils and enabling works packages on a major £100m infrastructure project in North London. The role will involve overseeing complex packages including groundworks, enabling works, utilities and associated civil engineering works, working closely with the wider project team, subcontractors and client. This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established contractor with a strong pipeline of major projects and genuine long-term opportunities beyond the initial scheme. Key Responsibilities Overall management and delivery of allocated civils and enabling works packages. Management of groundworks, utilities and associated infrastructure works. Coordination and management of subcontractors and site teams. Programme management, planning and sequencing of works. Ensuring works are delivered safely, on programme and to the required quality standards. Working closely with commercial, design and engineering teams. Managing client and key stakeholder relationships. Identifying and resolving programme, technical and delivery issues. Requirements Significant experience delivering major civils, groundworks and enabling works packages. Strong main contractor or civil engineering contractor background. Experience managing complex utilities and infrastructure works. Proven ability to manage subcontractors and multidisciplinary site teams. Strong understanding of programme, sequencing, health & safety and quality. Experience on major infrastructure or technically challenging construction projects. Strong leadership and communication skills. Due to the urgency of the requirement, the client is also open to experienced freelance/contract Project Managers, particularly those who can demonstrate long-term assignments and a consistent employment history. Package For permanent candidates, the position is paying approximately £85,000–£120,000 plus a highly competitive package, dependent on experience. Alternatively, experienced freelance candidates will be considered at approximately £400–£550 per day.
