Construction Planner in London

The Opportunity A leading Tier 1 main contractor is looking to appoint an experienced Construction Planner to join their London team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Planner to work on a major construction project within a well-established main contractor, taking responsibility for developing, maintaining and monitoring project programmes and working closely with the wider project team to ensure successful delivery. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of construction sequencing and programme management, with the ability to engage confidently with site teams, subcontractors, consultants and senior management. Key Responsibilities - Develop, maintain and update detailed construction programmes in line with project requirements. - Work closely with Project Managers, Construction Managers, Site Managers and subcontractors to establish realistic construction sequences. - Monitor progress against the approved baseline programme and identify areas of delay or potential slippage. - Maintain and analyse the project critical path, float and key milestones. - Produce short-term and medium-term look-ahead programmes. - Collect and validate progress information from site teams and subcontractors. - Identify programme risks, constraints, interfaces and opportunities for improvement. - Develop recovery and mitigation programmes where required. - Assist with programme reporting for internal management and client/project meetings. - Provide accurate completion forecasts and programme analysis. - Coordinate programme interfaces between construction, design, procurement, commercial and commissioning activities. - Support the preparation of progress reports, programme narratives and other project controls information. - Assist with delay analysis and extension-of-time assessments where required. - Ensure programme information is accurate, robust and aligned with the project's contractual requirements.
