A well-established main contractor with a strong pipeline of secured work is seeking an experienced Contracts Manager to oversee multiple projects across Kent and East Sussex. This role will see you take responsibility for the successful delivery of a portfolio of education and healthcare schemes, ranging from refurbishment and extension projects through to new-build developments. Working closely with operational and commercial teams, you'll play a key role in ensuring projects are delivered safely, on programme, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the delivery of multiple education and healthcare projects across Kent and the surrounding regions
- Lead and support Project Managers and Site Teams to ensure successful project execution
- Maintain programme, budget, quality, and health & safety performance across all schemes
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and stakeholders
- Monitor project progress, identifying and mitigating risks to ensure successful outcomes
- Work closely with the commercial team to manage project profitability and contractual obligations
- Ensure all projects are delivered in line with company procedures, client requirements, and industry regulations
- Drive a culture of continuous improvement, operational excellence, and high-quality delivery
About You
- Proven experience as a Contracts Manager within a main contractor environment
- Strong track record delivering education, healthcare, or other public sector construction projects
- Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Strong commercial awareness and understanding of construction contracts
- Thorough knowledge of health & safety legislation and construction best practice
- Ability to build long-term client relationships and support business growth
