The Role

We are seeking an experienced Health, Safety, Environmental & Quality (HSEQ) Manager to take ownership of HSEQ performance across multiple construction projects and business operations. This is a key leadership role, working closely with project teams and senior management to ensure compliance, drive best practice, and promote a strong HSEQ culture. The role is based in the East Midlands, with hybrid working available and regular site visits across the region.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, implement, and continuously improve HSEQ strategies and management systems
  • Ensure compliance with UK legislation, industry standards, and internal procedures
  • Develop, review, and manage policies, procedures, RAMS, and risk assessments
  • Conduct site inspections, audits, and incident investigations
  • Deliver training, briefings, and coaching to site and office-based teams
  • Support project teams with practical, solutions-focused HSEQ advice
  • Promote behavioural safety and quality awareness at all levels
  • Prepare HSEQ reports, KPIs, and performance data for senior management
  • Drive continual improvement initiatives across health, safety, environment, and quality

About You

You will be a confident and proactive HSEQ professional with experience within construction or a related sector, capable of operating both strategically and hands-on.

Essential Requirements:

  • Strong working knowledge of HSEQ legislation and best practice
  • Experience conducting audits, inspections, and investigations
  • Ability to engage, influence, and communicate effectively at all levels
  • Strong organisational and analytical skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities

Desirable:

  • NEBOSH Certificate (or equivalent)
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001
  • Experience within industrial, commercial, or main contracting environments
