Senior Quantity Surveyor – £70m Commercial Cut & Carve – West End Salary/Package: £95,000 + Travel + Medical + Pension + Discretionary Bonus O’Neill and Brennan are currently working with one of the UK's leading Tier 1 main contractors who are looking to appoint an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to take the commercial lead on a £70m commercial cut & carve project on Tottenham Court Road. The successful candidate will take full commercial responsibility for the scheme from pre-construction through to completion, working closely with the project team, client and wider commercial function to ensure the successful financial delivery of the project. This is an excellent opportunity for a Senior Quantity Surveyor who is looking for genuine ownership of a major and technically interesting London scheme. You will have the opportunity to lead the commercial function on the project from the early pre-construction stages, including PCSA and two-stage procurement, through to completion. The position also offers the opportunity to join a major Tier 1 contractor with an excellent reputation across the UK. Despite already being one of the biggest names in UK construction, the business continues to diversify, grow and expand into new sectors, providing strong long-term progression opportunities. Role Overview: Title: Senior Quantity Surveyor / Project Commercial Lead Project: £70m Commercial Cut & Carve Location: Tottenham Court Road, Central London Project Value: £70m Salary: £95,000 + Package Package: Travel + Medical + Pension + Discretionary Bonus Start: ASAP but can wait for the right person Type: Permanent Responsibilities: Taking full commercial responsibility for a £70m commercial cut & carve project from pre-construction through to completion Acting as the commercial lead for the project, working closely with the Project Director, wider project team, client and senior management Leading the commercial process through PCSA, two-stage tender and into the delivery phase Managing procurement and commercial management of major subcontract packages from tender through to final account Preparing subcontract enquiries, tender analysis, negotiations and recommendations for award Managing subcontractor payments, valuations, variations, change and final accounts Monitoring project costs, forecasting expenditure and maintaining accurate commercial reporting Identifying commercial risks and opportunities and implementing appropriate cost control measures Working closely with design, construction and client teams to resolve commercial issues and support successful project delivery Managing the commercial relationship with the client, consultants and key subcontractors Requirements: Proven experience working as a Senior Quantity Surveyor or Commercial Lead within a Tier 1 or large Tier 2 main contracting environment Experience taking full commercial responsibility for significant projects from pre-construction through to completion Strong experience with JCT forms of contract Previous experience with PCSA and two-stage tendering would be highly advantageous Experience working on commercial cut & carve projects would be advantageous, although this is not essential Experience commercially managing significant projects and major subcontract packages Strong commercial awareness with excellent negotiation and communication skills Ability to take ownership of a project while working effectively with the wider project and commercial teams Experience working on projects of significant scale and complexity If you're a Senior Quantity Surveyor looking for the opportunity to take genuine commercial ownership of a technically interesting £70m Central London project from pre-construction through to completion, while joining a leading Tier 1 contractor with continued growth and diversification plans, please contact Ned Scott-Mends on (phone number removed), or send your CV via email at .
