An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Health & Safety Advisor to join a major infrastructure and construction programme in Barrow-in-Furness. The project will initially involve large-scale civils works, with further construction packages already secured on the same scheme, providing long-term work in the area for the next 4-5 years. This is an exciting opportunity to join a high-profile project at an early stage and play a key role in maintaining and promoting the highest standards of health, safety, and compliance across complex site operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day Health & Safety support across site operations
  • Promote a positive safety culture throughout the project
  • Carry out site inspections, audits, and safety observations
  • Ensure compliance with company procedures and current HSE legislation
  • Assist with RAMS reviews and permit systems
  • Support incident investigations and reporting processes
  • Deliver toolbox talks and safety briefings
  • Work closely with site management, subcontractors, and client representatives
  • Monitor high-risk activities and ensure safe systems of work are followed
  • Maintain accurate HSE records and documentation

Requirements

  • Previous experience working as a Health & Safety Advisor within Civil Engineering or Construction
  • NEBOSH General Certificate (minimum)
  • Strong working knowledge of UK HSE legislation
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to influence and engage teams on-site
  • CSCS Card
