O'Neill & Brennan are currently working alongside an established and highly respected civil engineering and groundworks contractor seeking an experienced Health & Safety Advisor to support a growing portfolio of projects across Bedfordshire. Operating across residential, commercial, and industrial sectors, this business has built a strong reputation for delivering high-quality projects with a focus on safety, sustainability, and innovation. The Role

As Health & Safety Advisor, you will play a key role in promoting and maintaining a positive safety culture across multiple live sites. Working closely with site teams and senior management, you will ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations while driving continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular site inspections and audits across projects
  • Provide practical health & safety advice to site teams and management
  • Ensure compliance with current legislation and company policies
  • Support incident investigations and implement corrective actions
  • Deliver toolbox talks and safety briefings
  • Assist in the development and review of risk assessments and method statements (RAMS)
  • Promote a proactive and engaging safety culture across all projects

Requirements

  • Proven experience in a Health & Safety role within civil engineering or groundworks
  • Strong knowledge of UK HSE legislation and best practices
  • NEBOSH Certificate (or equivalent)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently across multiple sites
  • Full UK driving licence
