About the Role
Our client, a growing and well-established contractor, is looking for a Small Works Quantity Surveyor / Estimator to join their commercial team in Exeter. This role suits someone who enjoys variety and pace. You will manage the full commercial and estimating lifecycle on fast-moving small works, fit‑out, and refurbishment projects, typically valued up to £2m.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate tenders, cost estimates, and pricing from drawings and specifications
- Manage the full QS lifecycle including interim valuations, variations, cost control, and final accounts
- Procure subcontractors and manage subcontractor accounts
- Produce regular cost reports and forecasts to ensure projects remain profitable
- Work closely with site teams and clients on fast-track schemes
About You
- Background in small works, fit‑out, refurbishment, or similar fast‑paced environments
- Experience in both estimating and quantity surveying
- Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail
- Ability to work autonomously in a busy team
- Good knowledge of JCT contracts is advantageous
