A well-established main contractor is seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor, Managing Quantity Surveyor or Commercial Manager to join their commercial team on a major flagship civil and infrastructure project in West London. The project is currently in the enabling works and pre-construction phase, with main construction works due to commence next year as part of a wider long-term redevelopment programme. The scheme is expected to run through to 2030, offering excellent long-term security, progression opportunities, and the chance to play a key role on a major high-profile development. This is an excellent opportunity to join a highly respected contractor with a strong pipeline of secured work, an excellent reputation within the market, and a long-standing commercial team with very good staff retention.
Key Responsibilities
- Commercial management of major civil and infrastructure packages
- Procurement and management of subcontract accounts
- Cost reporting, forecasting, and valuations
- Variations and change management
- Contract administration and commercial governance
- Client and subcontractor management
- Supporting the successful commercial delivery of the project through all phases
- Management and mentoring of junior commercial staff where applicable
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor, MQS or Commercial Manager
- Strong NEC contract experience is essential
- Previous experience working on major civil, infrastructure or construction projects
- Strong subcontract procurement and package management experience
- Excellent commercial awareness and communication skills
- Leadership or team management experience would be advantageous depending on level
- Experience working within complex or live environments would be beneficial
