A major main contractor are seeking an intermediate to project level Quantity Surveyor to join the business. They can offer a supportive team dynamic and always aim to promote internally. Initially you would be working on a large commercial project based in central London.

The ideal candidate would be someone who has worked for main contractors (circa 500m annual turnover and above) and has previously managed the running of their own project.

Role Overview

  • Location: City of London
  • Salary: £55,000 - £75,000 (DOE)
  • Start: ASAP but willing to wait for notice periods
  • Type: Permanent

Responsibilities

  • Cost Control & Forecasting: Tracking actual expenditure against the approved budget, preparing cash flow forecasts, and applying value engineering principles to achieve cost efficiency.
  • Valuations & Payments: Measuring and valuing work completed on-site by contractors and subcontractors to certify and authorize payments.
  • Variation Management: Administering changes to the scope of works and evaluating their impact on project cost and programme.
  • Risk Management: Identifying potential financial risks and implementing appropriate mitigation measures.
  • Final Account Negotiation: Agreeing and settling final accounts through negotiation with relevant stakeholders to ensure full compliance with contractual requirements.

  • Strong background at flat roofing companies
  • Strong Commercial, risk and quality awareness
  • Previous experience in client facing roles
