Freelance Site Manager – Trowbridge, Wiltshire 4 Month Contract | Commencing Monday 10th August

An established five-star housebuilder with an outstanding reputation for delivering high-quality new homes is looking to appoint an experienced Freelance Site Manager for a 4-month contract on a residential development in Trowbridge, Wiltshire, starting Monday 10th August.

The business is recognised as one of the UK's leading residential developers, constructing thoughtfully designed communities ranging from first-time buyer properties to larger family homes. Renowned for its commitment to quality, customer satisfaction and sustainable construction, the company continues to invest in developments that create attractive neighbourhoods supported by green spaces and local amenities.

The project is a substantial new neighbourhood on the edge of Trowbridge, delivering a mix of contemporary two, three and four-bedroom homes alongside landscaped open spaces, pedestrian links and supporting infrastructure. The development forms part of the town's continued growth, creating an attractive environment for families and professionals while maintaining a strong focus on build quality and community.

The Role

Reporting to the visiting Contracts Manager, you will take responsibility for the day-to-day management of site operations, ensuring homes are delivered safely, efficiently and in line with programme.

Key Responsibilities

  • Keeping the build progressing in accordance with the construction programme.
  • Managing and coordinating subcontractors across multiple trades.
  • Ensuring all works are completed in accordance with approved Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS).
  • Monitoring workmanship to ensure the highest standards of quality are consistently achieved.
  • Enforcing all health, safety and environmental procedures on site.
  • Carrying out regular inspections and proactively resolving site issues.
  • Liaising with subcontractors, suppliers and the wider project team to maintain progress.
  • Following the direction and instruction of the visiting Contracts Manager.
  • Maintaining accurate site records and contributing to programme updates.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Site Manager within the residential housebuilding sector.
  • Strong knowledge of traditional and modern housing construction methods.
  • SMSTS qualification.
  • CSCS Card.
  • First Aid at Work certificate.
  • Excellent subcontractor management and organisational skills.
  • A proactive approach to quality, health & safety and programme delivery.
