Senior Logistics Manager Location: Devon Rate: £350–£450 per day Contract: Freelance / Contract Duration: Minimum 2 years anticipated Start: Immediate O’Neill & Brennan are currently recruiting for an experienced Senior Logistics Manager to join a major construction project in Devon. This is an excellent long-term freelance opportunity on a large, logistically complex scheme requiring an experienced individual to take ownership of the wider site logistics operation. The project is already operating with a substantial site workforce, multiple cranes and numerous concurrent work fronts, with activity expected to increase as the scheme progresses. The successful Senior Logistics Manager will lead a sizeable logistics team, including supervisory-level staff, and will work closely with the wider project management team, subcontractors and supply chain to ensure the site continues to operate safely and efficiently. Key Responsibilities • Take overall responsibility for the day-to-day site logistics operation • Lead, coordinate and manage a sizeable logistics team, including Logistics Supervisors • Manage site access, deliveries, material movements, storage and distribution • Coordinate crane activity and lifting requirements alongside the wider project team • Develop and maintain effective logistics strategies as the project progresses • Coordinate logistics requirements across multiple work fronts • Work closely with project management, subcontractors and the wider supply chain • Proactively identify logistical constraints and implement practical solutions • Maintain accurate written records and appropriate audit trails • Ensure all logistics activities are undertaken safely and efficiently in accordance with site procedures Candidate Requirements We are looking for an experienced Logistics Manager / Senior Logistics Manager who can demonstrate: • A strong background working on major construction projects • Experience managing large and complex site logistics operations • Previous responsibility for sizeable logistics teams and supervisory staff • Strong knowledge of crane coordination, deliveries, access and material movements • Experience operating within busy, multi-phase construction environments • Excellent leadership and organisational skills • Strong communication and stakeholder-management ability • The confidence to effectively manage differing personalities and challenging situations • A proactive approach with excellent attention to detail • The discipline to appropriately document instructions, agreements and key decisions • Appropriate construction qualifications and site certification Previous experience working for a Tier 1 or major main contractor on large-scale construction projects would be highly advantageous. Rate & Duration £350–£450 per day, dependent upon experience and suitability. The priority is securing the right individual, with flexibility available for candidates who can demonstrate the level of experience required to successfully manage a logistics operation of this scale.
