About the Role
This is a hands-on administrative support position within our regional construction office. You will primarily support the smooth day-to-day running of the office by covering reception duties, managing basic stock, and providing additional ad-hoc assistance to the PA to the Regional Construction Director.
Key Responsibilities
- Reception duties – Acting as the first point of contact: greeting visitors, contractors and suppliers, answering and directing incoming calls, handling enquiries (phone, email and in-person), managing deliveries and post.
- Basic stock management – Monitoring and ordering office supplies (stationery, printer consumables), tea, coffee, kitchen items and other everyday essentials; maintaining tidy stock levels and break-out areas.
- Ad-hoc support to the PA to the Regional Construction Director – Helping with general administrative tasks such as diary coordination assistance, preparing meeting rooms, filing, scanning, basic document preparation, running errands, and any other support required to keep things running efficiently.
- General office organisation and tidiness.
This is very much a supportive, “all-hands” role in a fast-paced construction environment where no two days are exactly the same.
Essential Requirements
- Demonstrable strong administrative experience (office-based admin / support role).
- Excellent organisational skills, attention to detail and a proactive attitude.
- Confident and professional telephone manner with good communication skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a small team.
- Immediate availability (or very short notice period).
Highly Desirable (but not essential)
- Previous experience working in the construction sector, or within a busy project / site office environment.
- Familiarity with construction-related terminology or office routines is a bonus but by no means required – we welcome applicants from other sectors with solid admin backgrounds.
What We Offer
- Competitive hourly rate of £15 PAYE.
- Flexible hours to suit family / childcare needs.
- Opportunity to work in a professional regional construction office with a supportive team.
- Immediate start for the right candidate.
