The predicted salary is between 15 - 20 £ per hour.
We are currently looking for an experienced Carpenter to join a refurbishment project at HMP Channings Wood. This is a hands-on role working on site refurbishments, carrying out a range of carpentry and general maintenance tasks within a secure environment.
Duties include:
- General first and second fix carpentry
- Hanging and adjusting doors
- Fitting skirting, architraves and ironmongery
- Installing timber fixtures and fittings
- General handyman and snagging duties
- Assisting with refurbishment works as required
- Maintaining a safe and tidy working area
Requirements:
- Previous carpentry and handyman experience
- Blue CSCS Card Required
- Own tools with Chop saw and M class extraction, an air fed mask as secondary RPE
- Reliable, punctual and able to work as part of a team
- Ability to pass prison security clearance DBS and ideally BPSS
