An interiors specialist contractor is seeking an intermediate Design Manager to join their team ahead of a busy pipeline of projects in Central London. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to get their foot in the door with a business that is growing at a fast yet sustainable rate and can therefore offer fast progression. The ideal candidate will have experience working on interior packages and who is interested in specialising their skillset. You will be working closely with the design director with the opportunity to progress into a principal design manager role.
Role Overview
- Project: Multiple Available
- Location: Barbican
- Salary: £65,000 - £75,000 + package (dependent on experience)
- Start: ASAP but they understand that they may have to wait for notice period
- Type: Permanent
Responsibilities
- Team and project management: Lead and motivate design teams, manage project timelines and budgets, and oversee the entire design process from ideation to production.
- Client and stakeholder liaison: Work with clients to ensure their expectations are met and communicate with various stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
- Technical oversight and compliance: Ensure designs are technically sound, meet all client requirements, and comply with industry standards, safety regulations, and legislation.
- Risk and quality management: Identify and mitigate potential risks (financial, safety, technical) and ensure the quality of the final design output.
- Documentation and reporting: Maintain thorough documentation of the design process and report on progress to senior management.

- Background working for an Interiors subcontractor (Joinery, FFE, Drylining, M&E)
